We are writing to inform you that this year, due to the Moon Festival from September 15 to 18, 2016, the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office will be closed during the said period.  All deadlines falling during the period will be automatically extended to September 19, 2016.  However, kindly note that September 10 (Sat.) will be a working day in Taiwan in observation of the long holidays.  Any deadline for Taiwan applications falling on September 10 will NOT be postponed.

Incidentally, the State Intellectual Property Office and the State Administration for Industry and Commerce Trademark Office of P.R. China will be temporarily closed from September 15 to 17, 2016.  Any deadlines for Chinese TRADEMARK applications falling during the period will be automatically extended to September 18, 2016 (Sun.), which is a working day in China.  However, the deadlines for Chinese patent applications falling on the said days can be postponed to the next working day, that is, September 19, 2016 (Mon.). 

Meanwhile, the Hong Kong Patent Department will be temporarily closed from September 16 to 18, 2016.  All deadlines falling during this period will be automatically extended to September 19, 2016.　　Nevertheless, our office is closed from September 15 to 18, 2016, and we will not resume normal business operation until September 19, 2016. 

Therefore, we would appreciate if all urgent cases and instructions are received no later than September 7, 2016.
