Notice of Chinese New Year Holidays

Dear Colleagues:

We are writing to inform you that this year we will be celebrating the Chinese New Year from February 6 to February 14, 2016.  The Taiwan Intellectual Property Office as well as our firm will be closed during the said period.  All deadlines falling during the period will be automatically extended to February 15 (Mon.), 2016.  We will also resume normal business operation on February 15 (Mon.), 2016.  However, kindly note that January 30 (Sat.) will be a working day in Taiwan in observation of the long holidays.  Any deadline for Taiwan applications falling on January 30 will NOT be postponed.

Incidentally, the State Intellectual Property Office and the State Administration for Industry and Commerce Trademark Office of P.R. China will be also temporarily closed from February 7 to February 13, 2016.  All deadlines falling during the period will be automatically extended to February 14 (Sun.), 2016.  Be kindly reminded that February 6 (Sat.) and February 14 (Sun.) are working days in China.  Any deadlines for Chinese TRADEMARK applications falling on February 6 (Sat.) and February 14 (Sun.) will NOT be postponed.  However, the deadlines for Chinese patent applications falling during the said days remain to the next working day, that is, February 15 (Mon.).

Therefore, we would appreciate if all urgent cases and instructions are received no later than January 25, 2016
