Updates on COVID-19 in Taiwan

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Central Epidemic Command Center, Taiwan, has taken control of the COVID-19 situation by implementing more than 125 safety protocols since January 2020. After 10 weeks, life in Taiwan may not be convenient but carries on as normal, with offices and schools open when permitted under the laws; restaurants, gyms, and cafes remain in services, while most premises take temperatures and spray hands with sanitizer at entrances.

Despite the sense of calmness, Tsai, Lee & Chen are still on high alert and take precautionary measures to prevent cluster transmission, including:

Temperature screening and inquires of past travel histories of all entrants, even for courier and delivery persons, for signs of fever.
Readily available hand sanitizer at all entrances and throughout various locations.
Reduction in social contact among staff and face-to-face meetings with clients, seeking for teleconferencing where possible.
Advising staff against unnecessary travel abroad.

Backup plans, including remote working, have been implemented to ensure our clients’ interests in case of the worst scenario that closure of our offices is ordered by the government.

While the COVID-19 situation remains unpredictable, we are fortunate that our government implemented and continues to implement swift, vast, coordinated, and well-considered policy measures that win international praises. As it is well said, it takes an entire country to keep people safe.
