Notice of Holidays

Dear Colleagues:

We are writing to inform you that due to Moon Festival (September 24, 2018) and National Day Holiday (October 10, 2018), the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office will be closed on the said days. All deadlines falling on the said days will be automatically extended to September 25 and October 11, respectively.

Incidentally, due to Moon Festival (September 24, 2018) and China National Day Holidays (October 1- 7, 2018), the State Intellectual Property Office and the State Administration for Industry and Commerce Trademark Office of P.R. China will be closed during the said period. All deadlines falling during this period will be automatically extended to September 25 and October 8, 2018 (Mon.), the first working day following the extended holidays. Be kindly reminded that September 29 (Sat.) and September 30 (Sun.) will be working days in China. Any deadlines for Chinese TRADEMARK applications falling on September 29 & 30 will NOT be postponed. However, the deadlines for Chinese patent applications falling during the said period (September 29 & 30) remain to October 8, 2018, the first working day following the extended holidays.

Incidentally, September 24, 2018 will be a working day for the Hong Kong Patent Department. Nevertheless, our office will be closed on the said day and will not resume normal business operation until September 25, 2018.

Therefore, we would appreciate if all urgent HK and China cases and instructions are received no later than September 21, 2018.
